About this project
Timoteo’s mentors and staff choose to see the potential in others and provide opportunities for people to live out that potential. Through leadership development, coach training, and mentoring we empower youth to transform their lives. Timoteo creates an environment where “each one teaches one,” as players become coaches, and coaches become staff. Empowerment also happens on the field of play through skill and confidence building, to prepare youth to accomplish great things in life.
One aspect that sets Timoteo apart from other mentoring organizations is the fact that all of the coaches (mentors) live in the community they serve. Timoteo is indigenous throughout, and leadership is built long-term from the community. Mentoring is more than a program for Timoteo, it is about sharing life and modeling to a younger generation how to navigate through life.
